Change
With any controversial issue, people get defensive, and it becomes difficult to make progress. Change happens in the grey. When people get extreme, there is more of a fight.
THE RIGHT TO BE WRONG
I think the ability to be a bad person is a sign of progress. I have an example for you. I am going to use gay men and women as examples, but this applies to everyone. If a woman sexually assaults someone, the immediate reaction is, “I can’t believe a woman would do something like that.” Thinking women are not capable of doing horrible things is sexist. Just because someone may belong to a historically underserved group does not mean they can’t do bad things.
